Graduate Route visa confirmed secure, student visa fees raised to GBP 490/1,151, TB test mandatory for Bangladeshis, and ATAS clearance expanded to more STEM subjects.

Graduate Route Visa Secure - 2 Years Post-Study Work
Despite political debate, the UK Government confirmed in 2024 that the Graduate Route visa will remain available, allowing international graduates to work in the UK for 2 years (3 years for PhD graduates) without employer sponsorship.

Student Visa Fee Increased - GBP 490 (Short) / GBP 1,151 (Long)
UK student visa fees were revised upward in 2024. Students applying for courses up to 3 years pay GBP 490; longer courses pay GBP 1,151. NHS surcharge is GBP 776 per year of study in addition.

TB Test Required for Bangladeshi Applicants
All Bangladeshi students must undergo a tuberculosis (TB) test at an approved clinic in Dhaka before applying for a UK student visa. The certificate must be submitted with the visa application.

ATAS Requirement Expanded
The Academic Technology Approval Scheme (ATAS) now covers a broader range of sensitive technology subjects at postgraduate level. Students in certain STEM fields must obtain ATAS clearance before their CAS is issued.
